Oklahoma has long been analogous with Bingo. That is because the Amerindian tribes of Oklahoma have operated Bingo games for years. Clients from many of the nearby states load up in autos and travel to Oklahoma to enjoy Bingo for the weekends.

The 1988 Indian Gaming Regulatory Act (IGRA) was introduced after a precedent setting decision by The U.S. Supreme Court just the year before. Since that time, 23 of the thirty nine Amerindian bands of Oklahoma have opened gaming halls. The Chickasaw were the initial Oklahoma American Indian band to take advantage of the gaming laws, and at this time run ten casinos of their own. Bingo was the game on which these casinos were built on. automated games like one armed bandits were not approved, owing to the fact that they are believed to lead to gambling dependency more than bingo.

In the past few years, Oklahoma rules have changed to allow for enormous Native gambling casinos. You’ll now find American Indian gambling halls with slots, video poker and blackjack tables. Craps and roulette are not yet legal in the American Indian gambling halls as of yet, although this is simply a matter of time. No one can determine whether having different games in the bingo parlors will do for the draw of bingo.
